How colour can impact your wellbeing
Colours
For as long as I can remember, my wardrobe of clothes consisted of mainly black, white and many shades of grey. The little black dress has always been a standard in every women’s wardrobe and although considered chic, classy, and slimming, however, black can be draining and even aging as it not only highlights lines, eye circles, and wrinkles but also blocks energy and does not particularly inspire positivity.
Many years ago, I met a Fashion Colour Analyst at a Networking Event, and whilst we were talking and exchanging business cards, she asked me if I would consider having a consultation with her so that she could advise me on what the best colours I should wear to bring out the best in me.
At the consultation, I was introduced to a colour palette that was selected to suit my hair and skin tone and even included which jewellery metals I should wear. I was shown how pastels and in particular, cream and beige did nothing for me and how peach blended in with my skin tone. In direct contrast to royal blue, red or cerise which enhances my skin tone. I could immediately see these hues enhanced my appearance.
So I decided to create a more colourful wardrobe and I found this experience rewarding and enjoyable. I would highly recommend meeting with a Fashion Colour Analyst to discover your individual colour palette. Wearing colours that suit you make you look younger and appear more attractive, brightens your mood and radiates positive energy.
Depending on the shade or tone, colours can affect your emotions in a variety of ways. For example, warm colours can evoke feelings of happiness, optimism and energy. Cool colours like green, blue and purple can create a calming and soothing effect whilst grey and pale blue can make you feel sad. The effect that colours have on you is subjective but highlights how colours and emotions are inextricably linked.
We unconsciously give and receive information from the colours that we wear as they all emit energy and create a particular vibration. Please see below a list of the meanings behind each colour.
Yellow - optimistic, warm, happy or young
Red - confident, exciting, intense, dangerous or desire
Pink - romantic, beautiful or compassionate
Blue - trustworthy, calm or dependable
Green - peaceful, healing, refreshing or natural
Purple - royal dignified, wise or luxurious
Brown - genuine, practical or sad
Beige - friendly, cheerful, warm or retro
Black - authoritative or powerful
White - innocent, pure, simple or hopeful
I regularly work with crystals, chakras and auras as part of my work as a Tarot Reader and Spiritual Life Coach and use this information to help my clients.
The colours that you are attracted to wearing, the food you eat or the crystals that you choose are very relevant to what you need to balance and heal yourself. When you are emotionally out of balance, you may suffer from stomach cramps or headaches. These symptoms usually relate to a particular chakra that may be blocked or out of alignment. Using a particular colour can help you rebalance yourself and crystals are a good way to support this balance, protection and healing.
The subject of chakras is a large topic but to give you an overview of their individual meanings, please see the list below:

Sacral - ORANGE (feelings and emotions)
Solar Plexus - YELLOW (personal power)

Crown - PURPLE (connection to source, healing and spirituality)
