A spiritual journey

A spiritual journey

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience – Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

I remember the very first time as a small child that I became aware of spirit.  This happened shortly after my paternal grandfather passed away. He clearly made his presence known to my family and we received many visits from him in our family home. He would often stand by my bedroom door at night and at the time, this frightened me.

During my childhood I went through a period of being unwell and during my long stays in bed recovering I would hear women chatting high up close to the ceiling.  I could never hear exactly what these women were saying but even as a child, I knew they were from spirit.

My maternal grandmother would often talk to me about the spirits she had seen and the ones that she regularly communicated with.  She moved home a lot and on one occasion she went to view a flat during the Second World War and a spirit told her not to move there so she didn’t.  This particular site was later bombed. On another occasion a man dressed in a suit and bowler hat appeared to her and after she questioned him, she asked him to leave. She also read cards with me and my mother and I also read cards together.

Being spiritual and psychic was so normal and everyday for me as it came from both sides of my family.

As a child my inquisitiveness and interest led me often to watch Yoga on TV.  I loved watching the peaceful Indian Yogis talking in calm voices about why and how to practise the asanas.  Today I love to practise yoga as often as I can as I find this spiritual practice creates balance in me.

I started using the Law of Attraction when I was only 15 years old.  I just knew if you asked for something it would occur.

It was obvious from the very beginning that this was the journey I was destined to take.

When as an adult I began sitting in a Spiritual Development Circle, this helped me to learn and understand how to communicate with spirit.  Whilst learning this, I also began to deepen my psychic awareness and grow as a Tarot reader.

When I was a child I was fearful of spirit because I didn’t have the knowledge and understanding that I have now gleaned from the many books, workshops and spiritual topics that I have studied, from reading Tarot, teaching Reiki and from sitting in psychic development circles.

In recent years I have been cultivating a spiritual community that creates a safe space for like-minded people to share their thoughts, incites and connect to help each other develop and grow.

In 2008 when I first sat in Circle, being spiritual was very much frowned upon especially if you overtly followed a spiritual pathway and in fact early on, I was secretive about the fact that I had joined a circle as a lot of my friends were sceptical about spirituality.

Being spiritual can be a lonely existence as it separates you from those that don’t believe, but in the last 10 years, more and more people are opening up and developing and finding their own unique pathways.  When you are on a solid journey, spiritual people become naturally attracted to you.

Overtime I have connected and developed more and more spiritual friendships. Some have stayed with me along the entirety of my journey and continue to nurture me.  I am grateful for all those that I have met along the way that have helped me become the best version of myself through the development of spiritual practices. It was a relief to find these like-minded souls and be able to meet up with them and discuss my experiences and share the ideas I had read in books or seen in videos.

When I look back, I can clearly see the pathway that I have taken. It has not been linear, it has taken many twists and turns and includes many dark nights of the soul. I acknowledge the people that have become my friends, colleagues and clients with great respect as they have become like my own family as we share a beautiful spiritual connection. I am so grateful for my journey and it is my pleasure to share what I have learned with others.
